About the Event
What's it all about?
Supported Hatha Yoga is a series of gentle, restorative classes with Sarah that can help boost energy and reduce pain, through the pillars of yoga practice – postures, breath work, meditation and mindfulness.
What will we cover?
Classes will include instruction and practice in:
Yoga pranayama (breathing practices) and chanting to help us energize, cleanse and harmonize all levels of our being and bring peace and calm to the mind.
Yoga asanas (the physical poses) to encourage the body through its full range of natural movement, build flexibility and strength and help to balance and bring good health to all our bodily systems.
Guided deep relaxation to invite body and mind to profoundly relax, recharge and heal.
Classes are best suited to beginners however all levels of experience with Yoga are welcome.
Bringing curiosity to sitting and standing practices, the flow starts in a physical chair, inviting openness of heartspace and hips, before leaning into strength and balance, to invite space and openness to mind, body and breath.
Supports during this practice include walls, benches, chairs, bolsters, blocks and straps.
Note: Please confirm with your doctor that it is safe for you to attend a gentle yoga class before enrolling.
Who will be teaching?
Sarah will be teaching Supported Hatha Yoga in Term 1 2025.
After moving back to the Macedon Ranges in 2016, the opportunity to practice Yoga, on a personal level, unfolded for Sarah. Having passionately practiced Pilates for years, Sarah embraced the mat and Yoga teachings with a new curiosity, and quickly found that it offered a unique and calming practice, whilst providing a beautiful sense of coming home.
In 2021, having worked in the health industry for 14 years, Sarah completed the 200hr 'Teaching Training: Beginning Level' though the Integral Yoga Academy, as she felt there is much to gain from regularly practicing such a holistic offering. Sarah has since completed the Level 1 Kids Yoga Training with Yoga Kids Training Academy, with much appreciation for the fun and creativity such practice invites.
Now affiliated with Yoga Australia, Sarah is honoured to share space and passion for a practice she believes can strengthen and inspire the mind, body and soul.
